You're right, and unfortunately that's how the liberals want it. Criminals have more rights than their victims. If someone breaks into your house and trips going down the stairs they can sue you.

The Supreme Court recently said a State can’t prevent you from owning a taser, but it’s not clear if they can prevent you from carrying it on your person in public.

Chances are that a typical plump, out of shape suburban American who can barely walk and happens to have a gun will have limited ability to resist an armed criminal. It is more likely that this American will injure either himself or his family and will not do much against the criminal.
it doesnt matter. it is their right to own guns and to have them with them for defense.
