Gotcha , yea that makes sense , I don't mean to down the town, it's a nice area as well as the surrounding towns, just very expensive and continuously going up in price.

I think there were some older (cheaper?) apartments on the road heading from the courthouse to Mendham (Washington Street). But sorry, I don't know their names.

If the rent is too damn high then you'll need roommates. That's literally how everyone else has made it work for a very long time. There's no hidden secret to it.
