One think I'm noticing is that there are no pro-casino commercials running. I would think that there would be some well healed casino interests behind the referendum that would fund an advertising campaign to support it.
Polling results have demonstrated to the pro-casino faction that they are unlikely to win, and as a result they have opted to suspend their planned advertising, and save their money. Or, perhaps they haven't yet healed sufficiently to take on that fight.
I suspect the relentless advertising has some responsible for the poll numbers.
Going into this, I would think if business interests went to the trouble of sponsoring the effort to get the measure on the ballot, they would have the war chest to push for it early, often, and hard. But no.
AC casinos are going away on there own. Should NJ just give up this business, and the jobs and tax money it brings, or let the business migrate to North Jersey?

id imagine that putting together money for a pre-existing business is easier than one that doesnt yet exist.
The most likely companies to be building the casinos if the referendum passes would be the existing big casino owners. If they really wanted this, they could easily put as much, if not more money, to push for passage, as the AC unions have been spending to stop it.
