Hi All, I am looking at a house on Boyden ave. near Brown st. Any thoughts on the neighborhood, is it too close to Irvington where I will have to worry about crime etc. Any thoughts, comments would be appreciated.

i guess it depends on if u have kids. I was there this weekend, maplewood looks descent, that part of irvington looked ok. What's your race or ethnicity?
well I never lived there so I don't know much about community but remember people always exaggerate bad things. If I liked the house and could afford it I would go for it.
depends where on boyden. the closer to irvington ave the sketcher it is. but i have friends with small children (1 and 3) who live on boyden and seems pretty safe to me. if it's between parker and elmwood, you're good. think you'll end up liking it for more than a couple of years. hope you stick around.
only been in maplewood for 10 months and absolutely love it.
Boyden ave close to Irvingron is not that bad, pretty quiet and safe but couple small things happen once in a while but no place is 100% safe. If you want to live in that part of Maplewood you may consider Union in that neighborhood. If you go right off Boyden to Newark Way, and when it changes to N Hillcrest Ave its Union, pretty nice there and decent prices and lower taxes. PM me if you have any questions.
Well it sounds like I am getting pretty decent feedback. I am thinking I am going to do a bit more research and probably pursue it. Thanks for your help.
If anyone else would like to chime in, please do so. The more info I have the better.
