Hi Neel, Basically the good parts of Jersey City are the ones I listed: the "downtown" area, which includes neighborhoods such as Harsimus Cove, Hamilton Park, Van Vorst Park, Exchange Place, Newport, Grove St. Are you saying you only want an apartment complex, though, rather than just a unit in a building? If that is the case, they will be pricey in the good parts of Jersey City because the complexes are mostly new luxury buildings. You would have much better luck with an apartment in a house.

Thanks Majesty for the list of area.We are looking for apartment complex so that we dont need to clean the snow in the winter, spcl the driveway etc etc so that they take care to maintain the neighborhood. It is possible in the apartment complex,is it possible in the individual building renting one unit as an apartment?i dont have any idea about that, can you tell me something if you know?

Thanks,
Basura

I lived in Jersey City for 3 years - just moved out this summer. I rented the basement of a brownstone, and someone else rented the top 2 floors. Our landlord (the private owner of the building) always cleared the snow. I actually don't know if this is required or not, although I would assume so. As far as your next question, the area near Liberty State Park light rail is not the best, safety-wise. I personally would not live there.
