It is a milk "fashion statement" ...like Dolce and Gabbana of cows. A way for people to feel better about themselves by wasting money.
No, it has actually been proven that organic milk is healthier than regular milk. It tastes better as well.
To me, I'll but it if it isn't too expensive. Right now, a gallon of regular milk costs around $4. If I can get organic milk for less than, say $7 per gallon, I'll go for it (though sometimes, I'll get the regular milk anyway)
I mean, it's healthier, but I don't think it's worth that much more than regular milk.

So usefulness is not always tied to price...without air you die in minutes and the cost is VERY low.

In any case, the people buying organic milk aren't necessarily the ones paying $5 a gallon for bottled water (that by itself would be ridiculous, considering that supermarkets carry bottled water for $1 a gallon). I mean, organic milk has a value over regular milk, but unless there's a problem with the water, bottled water isn't healthier than tap water.

I dispute that. Any such "proof" has probably been provided by those stamping an "O" on a gallon of milk, or on a cow's ass, and doubling the price.
When I see a blind taste test I'll believe it. When I see large double-blinded studies studies showing the "healthfulness" of organic milk I will believe it.
All else in anecdote, usually PAID-FOR, and placebo effect.
It works for thousands of other products, now they are doing it with food.

Well, the first time I tasted it, it was pretty much a blind taste test because my dad put it into my cereal and asked if I tasted a difference. Whether it was worth the price is a different story.
