I got my from a shelter for abandoned animals. She had a happy life and lived for 18 and half years. The last years she was completely deaf though. When she started to get status epilepticus seizures I called a veterinarian who came to my apt (I did not want to take her on a "last trip") and put her to sleep.
Most of the Cats/Kittens I have had I found. I found 3 outside my house, I adopted one from a Shelter. The current Kitten I have was found in Red Hook at a Getty station by the BBT.
North Shore Animal league on Long Island. Please consider rescuing a shelter cat as opposed to buying a purebred. In the city, there is the ASPCA and other shelters.
Please consider your local Animal Care and Control Center run by the City, where they literally have many animals to choose from, especially kittens/cats. They have an office located in each borough and the fees are very reasonable.
Found him on Marcy Ave. in East Williamsburg as a kitten 14 years ago. Now he's a snooty Westchester cat.
