You know back in the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's, New York City used to be a haven for mob activity. Mobsters like the Gambino family, Genovese family, Lucchese family, Bonanno family, Colombo family used to rule NYC. Is it still like that nowadays?

You must be young and recently read or saw a movie cause mobs in nyc go way back before the 70's

Yep and instead of doing airline heists for a few million, they stick up the entire country for billions and pay fines instead of going to prison and still are allowed to go about their business
