ive always felt like blacks usually got along better with puerto ricans than any other latino group. i think puerto ricans are more open to being in relationships w/ blacks.

has anyone else noticed this? agree or diagree

Maybe because P.R are aware that they share a common relationship with blacks, unlike other Latino factions who align themselves up with europeans

Are you guys speaking for all Puerto Ricans and all Latinos? Or for that matter, all Blacks? You've made some massive generalizations!

I don't feel that at all. I feel blacks get along better with other blacks, then they do with other ethnic group. the black on black crime stats seem to state otherwise.

I agree that they get along good.

In the Bronx, you rarely (if ever) hear about any serious racial issues going on btwn them. And as somebody who constantly goes through the Bronx, it's common to see both Puerto Ricans and black people hangin out and chillin together like it's nothin (though i don't see much interaction w/the elderly groups presumably b/c of language barriers that many have).

You also don't hear about these groups fleeing each other once another moves in; or people going online anonymously to whine constantly about:
- Areas going "downhill" b/c of another's mere presence
- "Undesirables moving in"
- "Illegal aliens/day laborers taking over" [when they actually never even left the country]
- Redlining/steering ppl away b/c a place is "changing"
- "Sketchy people outside" [in suits going to work]
- Bashing and ridiculing an entire school system b/c a group's presence exceeded 8% and placing child in private school for "safety"
....... and any of that nonsense even when nothing legitimately negative is going on..

Hopefully the Bronx stays this way. Not to sound ignorant but i've heard that the Latin composition in the Bronx may be changing with a larger *Mexican* presence. Even though I have nothing against this, it is a reality that Mexicans and Blacks as a whole DO NOT get along. It would BREAK MY HEART if I saw that East LA race-crap STUPIDITY going on in my city.

I grew up in a suburb with a mixed school system (~ 60% white, 20% black, 15% latin and 5% other) and when blacks and whites would befriend each other, it would kinda stand out to me. But when blacks and PR's would befriend each other, it really wouldn't even stand out to me since it was expected.

More open???? You make it sound as if Puerto Ricans are doing Black a favor by associating with them...let's be careful of our wording, and be clear, NO Latino group is better or worse than anyone else.

ive heard numerous of times how alot of latina women in the nyc area wont even give black men the time of the day, they tend to stay w/ their own kind.

There are a lot of Black american male, Latina female couples in this city. Don't know where you got that idea from. Don't see a lot of Latin Male, Black american female couples though.

Can you distinguish Puerto Ricans by sight from all other Latino groups? Otherwise, I don't see how you can have that theory.
