A coyote has had puppies in Pelham Bay Park.

Staten Island has wild turkeys too.

AND IF THEY KEEP BUILDING HOUSES, and displacing wild life, eventually they all would be in our backyards......it is sad what is happening in New Jersey, near the Revlon warehouse, so see the deer en masse scouting for food near State Highway 27...... and the Black Bears have been spotted in many backyards......

That's another argument for why people should live in cities rather than connect all the cities in the country with suburbs.

Rumor has it that a sparrow was spotted on the UES.
But not to worry, it was exterminated by RELATED.

Certainly there should be greenbelts where no development occurs but suburbs aren't so bad. I'm 30 mins from Grand Central in an old suburb and my kids have seen ospreys ripping up a fish dinner at the top of the oak tree on the corner, red tailed hawks swopping after squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, turkeys, and woodchucks and deer on our lawn, possums munching the fruit on trees in my garden, woodpeckers and even the occasional lost painted turtle. The cat sometimes brings in moles. Coming from London, I was amazed that so much wildlife could be so close to Manhattan. I lived about the same distance away from Trafalgar sq. in London and we'd see urban foxes and stuff but not the diversity of still-wild wildlife that you can near NYC.

We had a young male deer in the lost next door for about 2 years. He's gone now. I hope he made it to the park.

New definition of pride: "not quite exterminating ALL species"

I just saw one of the eagles! It was flying over The Outerbridge as I was driving home from NJ. I wish I could've gotten a picture. Amazing! Much smaller than other bald eagles I have seen in the past though.
