My friend received an email (she was applying for the 2 bedrooms), and received this email. She doesn't know if this means that she's on the waitlist because the letter says "Reinstatement" followed by the text below:
Thank you for your application for the above mentioned affordable lottery. Based on the information you provided, your current gross family income is $xxxxx. You appear income eligible for a 2BD at xxAMI%. Due to the fact that we received an extremely large number of applications, we will not be able to accommodate all who have applied.
Your application is logged and will be held in the office. As units become available, we will interview the next eligible person in the log. When your log number is reached, we will contact you in writing.
Please be advised the the processing of your application in now way binds the housing company to reserve or assign an apartment for you.
They put your friend to the certain income ranage waitinglist. The apartments for that income ranage all gone.

It makes me wonder why she was asked to submit financial documents to begin with. It's not like they sent her that letter months later. She received it literally a week after submitting her documents!
