I am currently attending the local community college with the hopes of transfering out and going to school in New York. Last i checked my GPA was just over a 3.2 and im a business administration major because my school doesnt offer finance and i wasn't sure about accounting or marketing. I never put huge thought or hope into thinking id attend a school like NYU or Columbia im just wondering what's a better choice not counting those schools so schools like Ithaca Syracuse Cuny. A school with a good business program that'll Bette prepare me to get a job in finance preferably. Thank you in advance.

My alma mater...Baruch CUNY. Probably won't get into NYU, Columbia with a 3.2.
So if not th is schools then Baruch CUNY for sure?
Doesnt hurt to try and apply but those 2 are more definitely more selective than Baruch for sure. Even Baruch is pretty selective. Baruch is much more affordable with a reputable Finance program. Bear in mind that finance companies usually recruit at Baruch for middle and back office positions, not front office.

You won't be getting into NYU or Columbia as a transfer with a 3.2 not even close.
Another factor to keep in mind is tuition/debt. Unless there is a compelling reason, the school that will result in lower costs and less debt has a huge advantage. What I mean by a compelling reason is a very strong indication that the higher cost will lead to higher income to offset the higher costs; this is a very high bar.
How tough is the Baruch application process if you just want to take some classes over the summer or winter? I'm a SUNY student and I hope to take some transfer credits over the summer
