My buzzer rang at 2am one morning and woke me up. I didn't get out of bed because I knew nobody was ringing it for me. A few minutes later I heard my neighbors door open. I'm guessing her visitor rang my buzzer by mistake. But I was up now and couldn't go back to sleep. So I set my alarm for 7am, which is next to our shared wall. 7am it rang and I let the go off for awhile. They eventually knocked on my wall. Opps sorry did my alarm wake you up. Hmmm guess it's not fun being woken up... is it.

My disadvantage where my bell is, is that it is right next to the SUPT buzzer, ugh, but I never answer the buzzer cause I'm not expecting anyone, so it does happen to me...ugh!

But tell me, don't nobody look at the dam number before they start pressing the shytt???
seriously???

my apartment is a double digit with a letter,

hello???? not hard to see.......
or figure out for that matter...

If you believed that was a mistake that's pretty petty.

Move to an apartment with better construction. Sorry it's the best and most reliable solution.

Nah they wake me up every night. Just usually not from ringing my buzzer. Either arguing, playing music, having sex, or just making a lot of noise.

I know it’s an old post but for recording banging you really need to show 2 things

- where the noise is coming from
- how loud the noise is

There are phone apps that will measure loudness, so if someone is banging on the wall, ceiling or floor you can measure how loud it is. I don’t know if there’s an app that will record the noise at the same time which would be optimal, otherwise if you have 2 phones or a phone and a video camera show the dB level where it’s loudest on video as well as capture the sound itself.

You know how they have foam sound proofing? What about getting a memory foam topper and placing it on your wall.

The walls are thin in the building and there isn't any sound-proofing. If I do anything at all, the neighbor bangs the wall like a madman (and sometimes it's just in the middle of the night when I'm doing nothing but sleeping and it wakes me up). I hear everything he does but I don't do that to him or file complaints because I realize, like any sane person would, that it's not his (or my) fault, it's the shoddiness of the building.

I tried talking with the neighbor, to get him to stop banging, but he reacted irrationally. Now I want to figure out a way to accurately record him banging (if he continues) because he told our landlord that he isn't banging and I need them to do something about it.

There's nothing we can do about the thin walls, but I can't deal with him banging when I'm not making a racket.

If anyone has experience with this, please offer up some tips.
Thanks!

you need a better cell phone.. get a iphone
