Not sure why ppl are happy about this since it means it will go into the next stage of gentrification or purification of the area.

Every area that Shake Shake has set foot has made it a commercial area with no middle class presence in NYC.

Exactly. Which is why we need it. I’m tired East Harlem’s Skid Row. East Harlem has been approved to be rezoned anyway, so in this case it wasn’t SS which is the cause of gentrification and “purification.”

Mott Haven is RATCHET. The only places in MH that are seeing development is Port Morris and 138th right now

All the Shake Shack locations I see opened in already established areas. Like this one planned for Harlem...it’s just one block away from the Whole Foods and a growing restaurant strip.

Oh no how terrible! More taxpayers, better neighborhoods and cleaner sidewalks! The outrage! And smarter kids filling the school districts and schools with better parental involvement. And safer streets. Whatever shall we do!? Call the waaambulance. Immediately!

For many on this forum, a neighborhood is "ghetto" and "ungentrified" if it doesn't have hordes of Penn State sweatshirt wearing white chicks lining up for muffins and bagels at 8am, ex-fratboy parties and al fresco dining for blocks on end.

I had a Luger Burger yesterday and I gotta say. For $7 dollars the burger you get at Shack its noot ad. Yes their fries suck, but overall not bad. I got a Shack, 5 guys and Bobbys Burgers within a mile from my residence.
