how is this "**** git real" there is a Shake Shack on 86 street....which is like a 12m walk from Harlem....
That's almost the border of East Harlem, which is still going through changes. A Shake Shack may very well continue to spur gentrification. Not everyone has $20 - 30 for burgers and fries and a shake. Even I was a bit taken back by the prices, and I can afford eating there.

"The LES just got a McDonald's, sh** is getting real"
NYC 70s the mood would have been "That white owned LES burger placed has closed and moved to NJ suburbs, sh** is going downhill and the LES is gonna burn!"

It might be pricey for fast food, but more expensive (comparatively) places like Dallas BBQ do fine in the hood
And I don't remember Shake Shack being that expensive, I think I paid more like 10-15 for burger/fries/drink

That is pricey compared to buying something from the McDonald's $1 menu for sure. East Harlem still has LOTS of poverty. You live at home so you aren't on your own yet. If you were I think you'd be singing a different tune.

They used to be somewhat decent, before they went IPO. IPOs ruin companies.

I'm quite certain that McDonald's is much more expensive than that. Admittedly, I haven't been in one in a very long time. Maybe when my kid was young, (or maybe it was Burger Thing). Either way, it wasn't cheap eats. That's the irony.
Harlem is filled with multimillion dollar renovated brownstones. Maybe some of you should actually go and walk there sometime.
