Legalize drugs, legalize prostitution, and it should be easy to close Rikers. End mass incarceration.

There are other reforms that need to be made.

AOC is the future of the country and is a perfect representation of NYC demographics.

Decriminalize drug use and prostitutes, but double down hard on dealers & pimps. Incarceration is incarceration, if found guilty by the rule of law and sentenced to imprisonment, you have to do the time no if ands or buts.

AOC is a naive and reckless simpleton

AOC is the harbinger of our second Civil War. She is not the future of the country.

For sure but to tell you the truth I think the vast majority of Democrats know this too and are happy to use her in the same way the right is using Trump as an attack dog. When it comes down to it 90%+ of this country believes in a (fair/level playing field) capitalist system

I don't know Jack about Rikers. I have never been there myself. Anybody who wants to move it or change it should pay the place a visit or two first in order to see it and feel it. There is probably no other way to really know what's best.

What's that going to do?

A jail is full of bad people, which does not mean they should be treated badly. If they are, you address the procedures and staffing, you don't just close the whole thing!

I really don't understand how anyone can support Socialism. It has NEVER worked! My goodness, why do they want to ruin this country? It's sickening!

Brainwashing and the power of easily garnered votes.

This country never should have allowed people to vote who don't own land or at least have gainful employment. Too much for this thread (or section of the forum), but I attribute universal suffrage to a good portion of our current problems.
