As a life long Queens native, this is horrifying. It's one thing to run into traffic on Queens blvd at 1am and get hit, but to have 2 cars rolling thru the crosswalk with ZERO REGARD FOR YOU...is a whole knew level of 3rd worldism. Most of Queens is 3rd world in 2020, so nothing surprises me anymore. Foreigners who never grew up driving in a place like New York come here and get their license with ease and take to the roads and do things like this in Queens.

You don't see this happen in CT, Weschester or Long Island. There really is a difference between American born drivers and these bunch. The roads of Queens have never been as dangerous as they are now. The 2nd driver should get the death penalty.

Im not gonna argue that Queens is a 3rd world **** hole. But I dont think those drivers ran him over intentionally.
Again, cars today have a massive blind spot between the windshield and the door frame, A pillar. While making a left run on a busy street I bet both drivers were looking ahead to make sure its time to turn and turn quick. When the guy fell down, Suburban driver clearly did not see him on the floor. The hood line is too tall. Thats why after the front wheels went over him, he slowed down in surprise.

Everyone is wrong here, but the man on foot should have known that cars always win. Keeps your eyes open and cross fast, this aint no Amsterdam, its a third world **** hole.

Totally agree with you here. Pedestrians are so careless and oblivious these days, especially the ones walking around in their hoodies listening to music. This accident could have easily been avoided. People need to be more alert when they are crossing the street. Especially at night. Don't expect every car to see you. So many deaths could have been avoided if these people took an extra few seconds to observe their surroundings.

Horrific video. So much wrong in the video, including clueless pedestrian. In know they technically have the right of way. But right of way means nothing against multi ton SUVs. Plenty of dead pedestrians who had the right of way in the morgue. I never assume anything when I cross any street anywhere.

Pedestrians in NYC have a sense that cars will always stop for them and they can cross streets without paying attention. I do jaywalk, but I always look both ways, even briefly, when crossing the street.

Too many transplants and people from suburbs moved to NYC and acted like they could be relaxed here in the same way they could from wherever they're from.

The irony is even 3rd world **** holers know how to cross the street in their own country since its a free for all.

Its only in america where you assume the car will/should stop for you because you have the legal right of way. Then you end up in the morgue. Entitlement to cross the street means nothing to a multi ton vehicle.

So the victim was a 57 year old man? Ugghhh. He should have used better judgement. You are a grown adult who probably knows the dangers of crossing the street and you're casually crossing a busy street at night, wearing a hoodie and probably listening to music oblivious to the heavy traffic? Just foolish.

It still seems strange that there doesn’t seem to be an official police statement on the incident or have released any information about the drivers. I could be wrong but that gives the impression they are protecting someone involved, like maybe a former cop or family member of one.
