Written by Michael Perlman... Very cool... He lives in my neigbhorhood in Queens. We've had so many long-time establishments torn down for high-rises... It's nice to see something survive.

Ben's was also right by a subway station but it was a local station vs. T-Bone Diner next to an express stop.

There are still a couple of diners in the area but they are fewer and fewer in number all the time.

T-Bone diner wasn't good at all. The service was horrible and so was the food. I got food poisoning both times I eat there, no surprise that they were shut down by the Dept. of Health on at least one occasion. Hopefully the new diner will be better.

I miss Tower Diner, I know Dinerbar offers their menu but I miss the building, atmosphere and the wonderful staff. Sunday breakfast just isn't the same anymore.

T-Bone Diner had decent service and food years ago but I hadn't been there in recent times.

A few of the former Tower Diner staff members were working at DinerBar immediately after Tower Diner closed. As I believe I mentioned already the Tower Diner & DinerBar owners are brothers.
