I hate to say this, but let's be honest. No one, at least no hetero male would be complaining if the female migrants were highly attractive women in their 20s or early 30s from Ukraine, or had Spanish Soar opera looks from Colombia, or Brazil. Maybe obese women, hairy women, or haggard women would be outraged.

I will even take it a step further. If these migrants were all loaded up with Masters or Phds in critical hi-tech fields whether male or female, we also would be far more likely to accept them regardless of how they look. I hope so cause we need more smart people, not a boat load of illiterate Uber drivers that act like scumbags and protest a one seat rail line to JFK, La Guardia, or Newark Airport for their selfish interest.

Mayor Adams is a moron and all our money that is meant for people important things is now going to the migrants.

The fact is, we are not getting the brightest or most attractive desperately coming to this country or to this city for matter.
troll af...

i don't mind em here

here's the thing...

The promise is for people to contribute to this country not leech off it. If you are not bringing your share, then get lost. I understand there are certain jobs Americans won't do and it needs SOME people for those roles. With automation and robotics, we don't need a million people for it. But most of these people here are not gonna be painting your house unless you count graffiti which they already did to some of the hotels our tax money paid for.

Free or cheap labor is an American formula since day 1.
What does "pro people" mean? If America wasn't "pro people" why are people from all over the world looking to immigrate to the US?

The funny thing about our immigration system is most don't realize how racist it actually is in practice. And all these lefties wanting everyone south of the border to just flow in is also racist.

Because they have a baseline failure to understand how many people, cultures and countries are discriminated against when considering coming here as a legal immigrant and how monumentally tough it is. Many don't even understand potential immigrants from countless countries have no other option than to play the lottery system when hoping to come here. Because our immigration system heavily favors Mexicans and Central Americans over all others.

And none of these people who love all the heart warming stories of people from south of our border looking to improve their lives, give a flying fook about all the people in situations around the world.

Try being a young educated family from Romania, Latvia, Singapore, Egypt or Uruguay and applying to come here! Good luck. Our system won't even listen to you. You'll hit a brick wall unless you win the lottery. You can be a legal green card holding resident in the US from a country like Bulgaria, and to invite your mother to visit she will need to go thru a thorough vetting process in person at a foreign embassy to even have a chance and getting a visitors visa.

But if you're from south of the border.....hey let's roll out the red carpet for you.

I know lots of people in my company that are H1Bs waiting for years for their green card in the tech and other STEM industries. But we instead reward people that broke the law and made up some crap about asylum when it isn't true. This country gets the scrapes of the barrel and when we do let some in we kick them out. It's no wonder why Canada and Australia have a better point based immigration policy where you got to earn your way. No games are played doing that or it is at least difficult to cheat.

That is not true. Those are of the people who are not accepted here. They are here now because they broke the law and crossed over. But if they were to apply to come here as Mexican nationals, they'd be denied or put in a quota to enter years from now.

Do people here have short term memories? NYC had a huge influx of Ukrainian and other Eastern European refugees very recently - the 1970s to 2000s when the USSR first had perestroika and then its resulting collapse. There's plenty of NYers who come from the former Soviet Union - many are Slavs or Jews (the initial impetus was limited only to Jews due to Soviet era policy). In later years, the waves of emigres were joined by Central Asians and Tatars, many of who are Muslim.

NYC also had a smaller wave of emmigrants from the former Yugoslavia. There are plenty of Serbs, Croats, Bosnians, Albanians, etc. in NYC either in the Bronx or in Middle Village, Queens. Edit - It's a wonder how many of these groups don't kill each other given their ancestral hatreds going back to the Middle Ages.

Eastern Europeans and other FSUs didn't come in large numbers until very late 1980s and early to mid 1990s. However, that population was mostly older than and very few actual families arrived in that grouping contrary to popular opinion. Most of them ended up going to UK, Germany, Northern Europe, or Italy over the years.

Even the ones from the Balkans go to Australia more so. Notice many of the tennis players are there.

Couple reasons they don't come here is due to the out of control crime, hood and car culture, and lack of transit options. Not that Australia is great in the transit department, but it has some appeal.

The reason they don't kill each other is kinda like how South Asians like Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladesh, Afghans, Nepal, and Bhutan don't kill each other here. Especially the first two groups since they both have nuclear weapons and fought multiple times.
