Well looks like that pit bull has been domesticated and went down like a poodle.

What is that supposed to mean? Do you think that having a Republican Mayor would have made this not happen? That's ridiculous. Police are not, and cannot be, everywhere. And that's true regardless of who is in charge.

Why were the dogs off a leash? Isn’t that a dangerous situation? Isn’t that a complete disregard to anyone else walking by?

Republican mayor, alone? No. In combination with other things, perhaps. If Dems never took full control of state government and passed asinine bail reform laws, it wouldn't shock me if this guy would otherwise be off the streets. If they ever catch this perp, I wouldn't be surprised if he has multiple priors and is a beneficiary of "bail reform" laws.

Anybody that walks their dog with no leash in a public space has mental issues

You seem to be under the impression that the violent criminals would have any regard about the safety or wellbeing of the law-abiding citizens around them.

More police presence would help. A presence that isn’t “reactionary”. Police have become more reActionary instead of proactive. And it is not their fault, it’s from the above chain of command. Could you imagine the outrage if the police caught busted someone for not having dogs on a leash??

I know the victims were the ones with leashes but in general I see a lot of cute small dogs off the leash in Central Park all the time. Sometimes 2-4 of them following one owner at a distance. It's weird to me some owners are so care free of their dogs. Any loose aggressive dog would just attack and kill their loved one and it would be hard to get control/save them without a leash. I hope the stabber (is that the vague description of what they're calling them these days?) gets caught asap. Got to be a sick animal to stab a little dog.
