What about Iranian food? Very similar to both Indian and Arabic food. Although my Iranian coworker grimaced when I asked him if white sauce is commonly consumed in Iran.

Every time I've done online research for an Iranian restaurant, I get search results for Persian. But I have a sense what you're talking about is different than Persian.

I've had Afghani food at a restaurant in the East Bay that was similar to a hybrid of Indian, Arabic, and Mediterranean food. It was very good.

My understanding is that Persians are the predominant ethnic group in Iran. However, Iran includes many other ethnic groups which do not identify as Persians ( Arabs, Indians, Armenians, Georgians, Turks, etc)

Got it. Yes, good idea. Kurds are probably the second largest (or at least one of the largest) group behind Persians in Iran. I searched for Kurdish restaurants in NYC, have yet to find anything.

Found one in Chicago though

Apparently theres a Turkish/Kurdish hybrid in Nashville too.
