If you are referring to the food from the country of Georgia, I am wondering if it is similar to the Uzbek food restaurants.

I have had both types. The food is different.

With food types from particular global regions, there are often similarities but also with key differences.

I find in the US too that many places will items from a particular cuisine but also have more commonplace food items on their list (so, for instance, an Afghani restaurant would feature some Indian items) so that people who are less adventurous would also be able to eat if they go there with an adventurous friend.

Trinciti Roti Shop near JFK. Always a line out the door for a reason!

Not a fan of that place. Found their vegetarian selection limited and not that tasty. Of course, better than nothing though..

Jamaican is much more common across the country today than it once was but *good* Jamaican can be hard to come by.

Not to bring another city into this but I've gone to spots in another certain big city that likes to circlejerk about how great their food is and found the jerk sauce to be from a jar that could be procured in virtually any supermarket.

Imagine going to a West Indian restaurant and expecting non meat options. The old lady behind the counter is likely to offer you fish because it's not considered " real " meat by many cultures.

I'm sad the Egyptian Coffee Shop closed down. There's an Egyptian restaurant near it (Mombar) that I've been meaning to check out. Just haven't had the chance to get out there recently.

They have a pretty interesting menu

I'm interested in trying the Lamb Brain, but have been really craving for Koshari ever since I first tried it in Cairo. Would be interesting to see how it compares.
