Are you going to the airport? Beware that a lot of Yellow Cab's refuse to drive to Newark Airport. They can't pick up a return fare (because it's a different state) and will likely ask you to pay double (if they'll take you at all). I learned this the hard way and almost missed my flight. Your best bet is a car service or the train from Penn.

The least expensive option would be a shared van or jitney service to Newark, which should not be too difficult to book.

Check with Super Shuttle as they have a network of blue vans that are everywhere. Welcome to SuperShuttle.com Exclusive service, as you are the only passenger, would easily top $100 to Newark, but shared is somewhere around $20 plus tip from Manhattan.

And, they are large enough that you would have room for a larger bag.

They do. From the way I understand their business, they combine two or three reservations on a route and then proceed to the airport. Usually, you have your own seat in the van and they drop off on a route at the terminals as well. I haven't had an issue with them, having used them to pick up/drop off visitors at the airport when I was unable to do so. It's not as bad as sharing a cab, since most of the vans have more room in them.
