@lubi1202 thank you, feel like a rockstar lol we are all here to help, lets show the mta what a real t/o is made of.the same goes for everyone in this forum, cuz if you took the time to join and make an effort to know and learn your already on a great track.
I share the sentiment. Everyone here is essentially here to help. I'm officially by myself now in YX, its intimidating and nerve racking. With that said, it's a great time to continue to study, ask questions, and learn. Utilize the time wisely.

Being in the yard is a great time to learn both equipment and train movement. If you are ever unsure about a move ask someone whether it be a supervisor or veteran T/O. Most T/Os will be willing to help you. Like any other job there will be some who dont want to be bothered but most will help you. Good luck and stay safe. Be especially careful on overhanging moves.
Hello DANNIK508. What is an overhanging Move? And what is YX? Sorry for a stupid question but I just want to learn.
A overhanging move is when your train is past the signal on your track. In order to move the train you must have a yellow light on that signal and also have the next signal in front of you. A YX train operator is someone who moves trains in the yard and at least when I was there empty trains from the terminals to the yard or the reverse and does not have a picked job. Usually a brand new T/O.

Got my signal exam this week, then it's yard posting, then YX for me. Time sure flys by in the TA. Can anyone explain yard posting. Figured out the YX program, but how does yard posting go. Are you with your class? Are you split up? What's the process m

In yard posting you will be assigned to a veteran T/O for the day. You will operate the train while he instructs you on each move that you make. He will show the layout of the yard and the barn and explain to you any of rules you need to know to move the train in the yard. It is usually just you and the T/O but you can also have another classmate with you. Sometimes a TSS will tag along to check your progress. Hope this helps.
