This area is called Bedford-Stuyvesant, also known as Bed-Stuy.
I don't know if it's safe or not. The neighborhood doesn't have a good reputation, but maybe someone with current knowledge of that specific area can help you. You can also do a search for previous threads on Bed-Stuy.
^ Thats more Clinton Hill isn't it? I've heard that the area is not bad. During the day I know for a fact its ok. I've been there at night and it didn't seem to bad, but I wasn't there too long in the evening.
It's supposed to be Bed-Stuy, assuming Classon is the western border of Bed Stuy. But who knows, it seems like neighborhood borders change by the day around here.
clinton hill starts west of classon ave. bedford is definitely not clinton hill. the name bedford-stuyvesant comes from when it used to be 2 separate neighborhoods, bedford and stuyvesant heights...thats where bedford ave gets its name from....but brokers will try to push the boundaries as far as they can just to get a buck.

^For some reason i always thought Bed Stuy started at Bedford, I stand corrected. However the area isn't too bad from what I know. Must be why the brokers are trying to cash in on the name.
