Yup its disgusting but like i posted before i heard from a few different people that if theres a certain amount of snow on the ground for a certain amount of time and we become so backlogged with collection that privates can come in and collect for us as we finish clearing...i dont know the specifics and i hope its just a horrible rumor bc once the privates touch our garbage its their foot in the door...

If the city is so strapped for cash we should increase our headcount and start collecting commercial trash for what the privates charge and make this an earning agency

I wouldnt expect any signs of a new class until after the 2012 fiscal year starts on July 1st. EVERYONE thats not working should be at the rally but unfortunately I noticed most guys on this job dont give 2 ****s about the union and take everything the union's done for them for granted

I KNOW FOR FACT!!! This is true, I even have a video of it on my cell phone... We didn't pick up the trash on York ave for about a week, so the building called in privates to take it. I walked over to the guys with my phone recording and asked them "what the hell you are doing!" Then called my garage and they confirmed it to be true. The wealthy buildings will put up the money their selves so they don't have to deal with the eye soar, and smell of the trash!

The only difference with that is the city will be paying the privates to pick up for us not the building owners...God forbid they just gave us more guys to get the job done so it would never come to that

If that ever happened where privates start working routes originally picked up by dsny....who would be responsible for giving them the ok?...bloomberg ? or another city dept?....if they figure its cheaper to throw private san. into the mix, bloomberg would have an orgasm. That news really sucks if it were ever to happen...hopefully the union can prevent it so they can start hiring again!
