Which is it?
Like George Carlin used to say:

"Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?"

Yep.

If the pace of traffic was 90, I'd go 90. The pace of traffic is usually about 65-70, so I go 65-70.

Keeping pace with traffic is the safest thing to do. As others have said, slower traffic, keep right.

Back to the point about what the police do or do not do when when victims feel they need to report road rage.

Clearly one of the concerns is whether anyone might call in to report someone that annoyed them. The police obviously have to use judgment (which is critical in all aspects of their job).

If someone not only calls in, but waits to meet with an officer to report road rage, the person clearly has a level of concern and the officer should also have a basis for making a judgment as to whether there was a dangerous driver on the road. We all know that they cannot give the other driver a ticket because the officer did not witness the situation, but the police should be able to make the call as to whether some type of notice (a letter or personal visit, etc.) is in order. If the same person starts getting multiple notices, it should become apparent that there is a problem with that person's driving. Something needs to be done to give these people a wake up call that there are potential consequences to their actions.

Instead, it seems that the police are more focused on questioning the person calling it in as to what their role was and have absolutely no interest in taking any type of action with the ass who drove off after terrorizing people.

Another possibility might be installing some type of automated camera(s) in the car. This could possibly be used to document the incident as well as how the police handle the situation.

From my experience the people who make me have road rage are the slow drivers in the left lane. Or slow drivers in front of me when they SEE the traffic light is about to change and they continue crawl up the block and make us miss it. Drivers who get on the highway at a low rate of speed and then wonder why they cannot merge easily. Inconsiderate cabbies that stop anywhere, even right in the middle of a side street where there is no room to go around them. And drivers who STILL DO NOT KNOW HOW TO USE AN E-ZPASS!!!! You are not to come to a complete stop or travel at 2mph. GO!!
