I currently live in Fishkill ny ( moved there in September 2010 from Westchester). My husband and I are interested in buying something ( house or condo ) in the next year or so. Does anybody have any opinions, good or otherwise, about the village Park condos in Fishkill ? I believe that is the name ( they are located behind the Dunkin donuts on 9 ). Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. TIA
Honestly-look for a house. The equity you'll build up is better than the condo's. Not saying they aren't nice-some have been updated before sale. But if you ever move again-it's easier to sell a home than a condo. I remember them being built back in the 70's. I've got friends who live there and do like it quite a bit. They have a nice pool area and tennis courts. Look at http://www.midhudsonmlshomes.com/ This is the Mid-Hudson MLS site-you can find anything you want for homes on it.
thanks for the reply. We are leaning towards buying a home but before then we are also looking to rent for another year or so. I have noticed there are a few rentals in those condos as well. It seems like it would be a nice place to rent for a while? Have your friends had any issues with them or it is mostly positive? TIA.
Most of our friends liked it there. I grew up near there-remember them being built as a kid. And had friends live there until they left for college-a few have bought their families condos when their parents decided to leave the area. It's not a bad place at all-I use the loop to walk around-it's also close to Sarah Taylor park that now has a great walking path and fields to use. I'd say it's a good first stepping stone.
Excellent ... thank you so much for your input !!!
