You don’t necessarily have to live there. You can live outside of that district and work there, if you want to.

Former driver here, the most disrespected person in a school district is the bus driver. You have the students, parents, school, state, Feds and, in my case, a private company, breathing down your neck. You have irrational fools in other cars not willing to wait for you to unload the bus as they pass it endangering the kids. You can't touch a child, you can't prevent a fight and if it happens all you can do is stand in between to separate the forces. If a student gets taken off a bus for being a problem, SOMEONE at the district has to arrange transport for the student. Guess who gets put back on the bus?

It's a bad situation for someone trying to do a good job. I won't even get into the dealings I've had with parents. Who would want the responsibility?
God bless those who do it, you're a hero.

Just pass along, but here are a couple of school districts that I’ve seen display/pass along bus driver openings: https://www.ithacacityschools.org/ (has a banner in front of Ithaca High facing Route 13)

Can look for more here: https://olasjobs.org/

..........Can't agree with the 1st paragraph enough. Was a bus driver in another county...until the time a large truck came within inches of t-boning us as it never stopped at the stop sign. That was it. I had a bus full of K-5 kids. Went back to another pt retirement job. Had enough stress in the military. Didn't need that additional load on my conscience, had the worst happened.
