What is your favorite Upstate New York metro area?
Syracuse, Albany, Buffalo or Rochester and why? Thanks for your responses.

Rochester...mostly because of my hometown bias...but also because we seem to be more "resilient" than the others. We avoided "rust belt syndrom" better than Buffalo and Syracuse...atleast until the early 2000's. It feels like we are a little more high-tech than the others as well. We have some really nice suburban towns on the erie canal like Pittsford and Fairport that are just that "picture perfect" place for a family.
That being said I would rather live in any of the aforementioned upstate metros than any of the charecterless, transient, over-hyped sunbelt metros any day! (I say this having lived in one for almost 13 years!)
