The last Rodeo built has to be 20 years ago. What shape do you expect them to be in and where are the parts going to come from? Isuzu isn't selling cars here anymore either. It is a really bad choice.

I would suggest looking into SOHC 4.0 liter V6 2nd or 3rd gen Ford Explorers and 4.0 liter I-6 1998-2001 Jeep Cherokee's (XJ)

Actually, the last year for the Rodeo was 2004. Your math is way off. Isuzu is partly owned by GM. The last two models of Isuzu in America were rebadged GM products.

It is more the GM ties than the paranoia of parts scarcity that would steer me clear of an Isuzu.

Ok, my math is off but of ALL the SUVs on the market would you really recommend the Isuzu Rodeo that was last built 10 years ago? Why?

Isuzu's were pretty decent and there are still a lot on the road. But yeah prob not the best choice, but neither is an Xterra.

Did you see me make a recommendation for an Isuzu?

If you did, you need to reread what I wrote.

If I were to get a Nissan, I would go with a Frontier.

I actually do like the Explorer's, but from the looks of info on CarComplaints.com anything between 02-06, or 02-04 really, looks bad. I do have an 01 pulled up to check out. My mom had one and it lasted over 300k miles, although the body started to squeak alot.

At any rate, I guess that is the reason there are alot up for sale. Never knew anything about them so I was curious. That answered my question After previously owning a Daewoo, I don't want anything to do with a vehicle that is foreign and/or no longer manufactured.

I don't know about the 2000s but I know my daughter's 2003 Frontier has a timing belt.

I would never buy a vehicle with an "interference" engine with a timing belt but it was my son-in-law that bought this one.
