Thanks everyone with the support and giving me persepective on this decision. After hearing from you all and looking up prices of the same vehicle, I'm going to tell them they have to lower the price significantly. I think I may even print out the KBB and some other Xterra adverts to show them the pricing vs. what they are asking.
I had a feeling $6500 was a tad much, even after all their dealer fees, taxes, tags, etc. $5000 is even kind of pricy for a 14 year old vehicle. I've found a Santa Fe and Explorer with similar age and mileage with reasonable pricing. They don't appeal to me like the Xterra does, but MPG might be a bit better.
Oh an d no I didn't do my own CarFax but thought about it. The CarFax they had didn't specify if airbags deployed.

They are a Honda store looking to make as much money from you as possible - nothing more - nothing less. You need to walk away from the deal.

I wouldn't bother with KBB, etc. Just walk in and tell them you are comfortable at $3500 out the door and that is what you are willing to pay. If they balk you walk.
And be willing to walk. That is the most important part.
I would check out car complaints.com, you can look up and avoid ones that have a lot of issues. Often times, the ones with the most issues are mostly the type up for sale at car lots.
Is there a particular reason why you want to buy a Xterra?
While they're relatively reliable, they're not particularly fuel efficient, fun to drive, or have alot of cargo space.
At 136kmi, you'll be looking at replacing suspension components soon. Has the timing belt been replaced?
Wow, thanks Wheelsup! I want to go buy that Toyota right now!! lol I'm in Clearwater, FL which is right outside of Tampa. Orlando is about a 2 hour drive away..but for a vehicle like that I'd make the trip. That's a pretty good price...how much more do you think could be negotiated?
Also, not sure if it was you or someone else that asked but I like the Xterra because it just looks like a fun vehicle, plenty of room for me to tote my dogs around in and maybe even a kayak once I get out of my current car payments and can afford one. I mostly just want a good looking SUV that won't look corny in a couple years and of course is reliable and will last forever (as Toyota's and Nissans do, it seems).

OP take the highlander.
From the pics it looks really good. Shiny paint, clean interior.
Even has a tow hitch.
I didnt know highlander comes in 4cyc. But that's even better.
That looks like a really good price. I don't think you get in any lower, but you can always try.
6000 drive out today. Say it like that.
If I was in the market for a cheap reliable SUV. I d scoop this up.
I think the OP is somewhat set on that Xterra. I suspect she will buy it and pay way more than it is worth.
