No. I leave my phone on at night because I have two kids in the military - one in Guam and one in England (different time zones) and I also have two very reckless adult sons who I expect to be in a wreck or injured jumping off a cliff into the ocean at just about any time. Wait! Come to think of it, my daughter actually called me in the middle of the night recently to tell me that she was on the way to the ER because one of those sons actually broke his back (two vertebrae) doing just that!
I also have a husband who works out of state and often at night, in a very dangerous profession. And I have seven grandchildren.
I have two very ill and elderly in laws, as well as my mother who's already had one stroke, and my dad, who has cancer.
So that is why I keep my phone on 24/7. It's NOT because it's important for me to "feel important." It's because the people who I love may need me - and at the very least, if one of them is hurt or sick or has any sort of emergency, I like to be able to respond to them - not out of a sense of importance, but out of love.
So...to make a long story short - if I get a text in the middle of the night, it darn sure better not be something work related that should have been sent via email. Somebody better be bleeding somewhere.
