I'm just curious if it varies for most people or if there's a generally accepted type of person that could be defined that way.

For me, a loser is someone without a voice. Take that as you will.

Dopers, potheads, people who blast the stereo as loud as it will go, people who can't understand that not being able to speak standard english will shut many doors in the job market.

The stereo blasters need to check the price of hearing aids (expensive) because they will need them before they reach age 35.

It is good to have a voice, but it is also good to know when to shut up.

I think losers, when you really consider it, all boil down to one or more of the following three traits:

> Self-absorbed
> Negative
> Lazy

I mean, does anyone's definition of loser not ultimately point back to one of these?

Interesting question, OP!

Someone who wants to make a change in their life (academically, professionally, socially, etc.) and could actually do it but instead choose to do nothing and then complain about it.

[the key part for me is that they complain about it]

My definition of a loser is someone who complains about their situation, and could improve it, but are too lazy to.

My definition of a loser is a child molester,murderer,abuser...in essence someone who harms others just for the heck of it.

People who act like victims and stop trying to better their lives...the odds are stacked against them. the world is against him, he can't get a break...so why bother instead I'll just give up and lay on the couch and vent about how unfair the world is....

People who wreak destruction in the lives of their supposedly loved ones because they think that they deserve more, and that supersedes the needs and rights of their loved ones.
