I think it would be hard to top Frank Zappa's children who he named Moon Unit and Dweezil. Celebrities often come up with really weird names for their children and even the general public has come to accept just making up names with unusual spelling just because they like the sound of it. I agree that the down side of this trend is the fact that those children, particularly if they don't have famous parents, are going to be picked on and made fun of for years so I don't see why a parent would want to give a child a name that is nothing more than a joke.
