Probably. Charlotte is known for it's 3 B's: Bibles, Bubbas, and Babystrollers
Also a lot of Buildings, Beer and Boobs....my (old company) colleagues that work downtown Raleigh love excursions to downtown Charlotte for meetings. Tons of eye candy...Raleigh is slooowwwww in this regard...everybody works in RTP. Banks might not be the most exciting business but they have tons of eye-candy versus watching 20+ year state employed frock wearing broom-hilda on the corner puffing on a Marlboro.
15 Reasons Why Charlotte Is The Weirdest
"Astounding lack of culture and character" "Everything Is Oddly Evangelical" "College basketball rules North Carolina, and even Michael Jordan has a hard time cheering for the Bobcats/Hornets/whatever of Buzz City" " The Streets Are Always Empty" "Charlotte is the city that always sleeps" "NASCAR is sponsored by that big bank with all the weird paintings"
"Public Transportation Is Hilarious, does anyone actually use the light rail?" Charlotte basically said their barbecue was ok"
"A combination of college and purgatory everyone moves there and then leaves within a few years"
....Yet with all of that taken into account, Charlotte is still home to more jobs, more people, more businesses, and more economic clout than Raleigh.
We get it... Raleigh is a nice place to live. Nobody is disputing that.
However, in terms of importance to the regional, national, and global economy, it is behind Charlotte. And yes, that takes into account the area's technology parks, research and development, universities, etc.
Ad big surprise... despite you saying to not bother searching for Charlotte on the list, I randomly clicked one of the links and sure enough... Charlotte was on the list.
Just give it up, bro. I wonder why your new account hasn't been banned yet? What was your previous account's name?

Assuming that's all true, Charlotte is still 2nd class to Raleigh in every measurable way of what people want in a city, sad How long can Charlotte go on with such a poor showing. Maybe they're are more people in the Charlotte area, for now, because they're stuck. Doesn't mean they all want to be there, there are a lot of people in Detroit and Cleveland who may want to leave but can't too

Let Raleigh annex all of Wake like Charlotte annexed nearly all of Meck and we'll do an apples to apples comparison. Raleigh simply has more numerous, faster growings and larger suburb cities within it's home county than Charlotte does. Hence Wake and Meck are a million people each. It's a wash.

Charlotte - Gamma + world economic city
Raleigh - Gamma world economic city, assentionally another wash (until the next financial crisis, I guess you saw Raleigh was a "recession proof" economy". Charlotte was no where on that list )

You probably clicked before my last edit. Charlotte was on just a couple of list….those times ranked well behind Raleigh. Most of the list Charlotte wasn't even on Go back and see for yourself:
Charlotte compared to Raleigh is just a big Gastonia with a better skyline, take away the banks and duke energy and what's left? Just a big country town on the SC border, haha

If you think having makeup caked on like Tammy Faye is attractive, lol 150,000 college students alone in the Triangle. I can let that speak for itself Bank Buildings Boring Bikers Bibles & Beerguts
Your colleagues must have been in downtown Raleigh 10 years ago
Something like a Rolls Royce dealership requires a high number of wealthy people to support. The fact is, no metro area North Carolina, and let's throw in the Norfok/VA Beach metro area, could really support one on its own... but collectively, they can. So it makes sense to build something like that close to the population center... which happens to be Raleigh. There are probably more people getting their RR serviced in Raleigh and driving it back home to Charlotte than staying in Raleigh.
Of course that makes sense, because there are more millionaires in Charlotte than Raleigh.

I'm not referring to city propers. I'm referring to metro areas. It isn't a wash. Charlotte is considerably more populated.

Essentially a wash is not a wash. Charlotte leads again. And while Charlotte's banks may be susceptible to a financial crisis, Raleigh is not as prone to boom during a boom period.
And who were you before CLTsmackdown?
You really strike me as a person that got turned down for a job in Charlotte... or had a girlfriend run off with a successful man who lived in Charlotte or something. It is almost comical at how you can't see Charlotte for what it is... a thriving city in the Sun Belt that leads the region between Washington and Atlanta.
