I will answer that and say that so far Iv'e been disappointed in his overall performance @ this point! To me, it seems that Art Pope is pulling the strings and that he's nothing more than his puppet! I thought that he would govern more as a moderate and that he would be an asset for the urban areas of this state in terms of funding more roads, transit and overall infrastructure improvements in the urban areas of our state! Unfortunately, it just seems that all he's doing is Art Pope's bidding, what Art Pope wants, Puppet McCrory will carry it out for him instead of what is in the best interest of NC as a whole! I didn't vote for him in the last election, and if McCrory continues to be a puppet for Art Pope, I definately won't vote for him in 2016!

I had low expectations in the first place, so things are going about how I thought they would. Art Pope now owns the Governor's mansion and the NC General Assembly.

He literally just got on the job, so I can't pass judgemnt on him yet, but I will say he has done nothing for me to think positively of his tenure so far.

He has chosen to place his attention (while wasting taxpayer resources to do so) on issues that are non-issues.

He is acting just as expected. Unfortunately.

While he was mayor in charlotte he didnt care what the voters wanted done with their money. I dont expect he will .change We need to lock up the state retirement funds before he can plunder it. NC is in debt big time but it wont stop him from spending...just wait

Going to have to look up Art Pope. Never heard his name before that I can remember. Time to research so I can know what you are all saying.

I like his focus on moving toward making government more efficient. I didn't like how he said that the state doesn't have any more money and none would be coming to fix problems, then he went ahead and gave his cabinet members raises.

I think this is a big concern. I don't like some of the headlines I have read concerning this now healthy fund. Social Security would be healthy if political people had kept their hands out of the till. You made a good point. Many have paid into this fund for years. Keep your hands off this fund.

8% raises for cabinet members one of his first actions? Bad sign in a state with 9.5% unemployment and where almost half of our counties are home to families with an average income below poverty level.
