I grade it a D+ at best. Probably should a waited 6 months to give his "yes" men a salary hike, mind you government officals with 110k+ in salary....if a democratic governor had done that, the conservative talking head would a rake them over the coals. Just stay out of Charlotte issues, you are now in charge of the entire state. Why cut unemployment insurance during a lingering recession? Especially one that's hit the state of NC so hard...so it takes an 3 additional years to balance the budget...note in direct contradiction of his action, to raise government official salaries.

Grandstanding about the medicaid expansion via federal government dollars...note, several other republican governors once opposed have flip flopped on this position. I think he will too.

He keeps this up and he'll be working with Bev in 4 years...slow ya roll Patty.

This is why I prefer a balanced house; when one aquires a majority objectivity is completely disregarded and pushing their agenda through becomes priority. Without some resistence the agenda is pushed through quickly & recklessly with little or no benefit to the voter.

A new Civitas Institute poll showed Gov. Pat McCrory's approval rating rose from 41% to 46% between January and February, while the General Assembly's rose from 36% to 40%. However, fewer voters are also undecided about McCrory's performance and more disapprove of it.

Now the genius is proposing changes to the lottery with the main part being the removal of the word "education" from the title.
That means the logo will need to be altered/replaced/removed on everything........7000 times over in most cases. I guess it's okay to waste money if its for the sake of your agenda.

I'm disgusted by McCrory. I had very low expectations and he's still disappointing. For a man in charge of a state that has many depressed areas to come in and cut unemployment instead of focusing on jobs truly makes me ill.

Your former Gov did nothing to create jobs. She borrowed 2.5 billion from the fed to pay for
the unemployed. That formula did not work to help anyone nor did it create any jobs!
How are we supposed to pay this back?

This new Gov has a job to do. One of the hardest things to do is to fix the broken wheel.

WELFARE nipple is available for those needing help.

Go Pat!

The governor doesn't make jobs, but the governor & legislature set the tone for local officials attracting jobs. Where I live, I see a difference in job growth already & it's negative.

Refusing to sign up for the medicaid expansion doesn't help the state's image. Signing up for it would have saved the state money which could have been used to pay back the unemployment debt. Slashing the unemployment will cost them free federal assistance & push more people to welfare. While we're at it, the Republicans raised the unemployment tax paid by employers. That is going to result in fewer jobs.

We don't need the medical expansion. We are going bankrupt in NC and the bleeding must stop.
Fed Unemployement loans - where does the money come from? Just keep printing it? The dems
recently increased your taxes 2% - need proof, look at your pay stub and compare the tax rate to last year.
