I see a big miss with "Pat". The tax changes are going to hit home for all property owners. The only place counties will have to make up for loss of state taxes will be in real estate taxes. I witnessed this in NJ, to the point that in some counties people were paying $12-13K.

In Rowan, The county comm. have already said that rates will be going up. Taxes in NC were already low now they are too low for the good of the state.

Don't forget that Bev Perdue increased sales taxes as well with zero complaints from the Progressives about how it would impact the low income residents of NC.
You cite discretionary spending yet omit non-discretionary spending such as; gas, groceries, clothing, & utilities.
