So it seems that Duke Energy is reducing its office "footprint" by 25% and is leasing rather than owning. What are those rascals up to ? Are they trying to be more efficient ? Does Wells Fargo have anything to do with this efficiency ? Will my electric bill go down ?

There are lots of changes to lease accounting that are taking effect this year (IFRS required and GAAP optional) and next (GAAP required). I imagine this change is so they have more expense. Seems counter intuitive, but, when you operate a cost-plus monopoly, any expense that can be justified and passed on with a margin to ratepayers is a good thing.
Which one is the Residence Inn? From an out-of-towner point of view, nothing stood out for me as being out of place in the above pictures. Outside of that one building that looks like it has a techno rave going on inside it.
Honestly, Charlotte looks just as impressive as Atlanta.
I don't know about all that but it does look very very impressive for a metro it's size. Not just in size and height of uptown but the aesthetic of the buildings and their arrangement.

It's the yellow/beige building. If you look at the 2nd to last photo, it's to the left of Bank of America Stadium between it and the crane.
