I believe what most people are talking about are, Mexicans with Indian origins.
They have a distinct look, for the most part. They don't look like Cubans or
Italians or Vicente Fox.

You're right. Most people same they are the same and they aren't
Oh good! We spent over an hour one night looking on the yellow pages on line just to make sure there was enough ethnic cuisine down there for us. We get bored with the regular American fare. In particular he likes sushi and I like Korean and Indian food and I have recently fallen in love with Jamaican food too. Yummy. Now I'm hungry.

Good to know they sell Cuban coffee, I like Cuban coffee. What about other Cuban products?
My wife is Cuban and we are planning on relocating next summer. Oddly enough there are tons of Cubans in the tiny town of Piney Creek, NC. Wife's cousin has a house up there, and apparently the guy that owns the land is Cuban. His relatives in Miami keep telling their friends to buy there, so they've established a little Cuban community.
When we get down and I figure out how to build a pig box (with the supervision of my father in law), we'll have to get all the NC cubans together.
My Spanish is not very good, but I did learn "Conjo!" quite quickly!
There is a significant number of Central Americans here, Guatamalans, Hondurans, Salvadorans, but they tend to have just enough in common with Mexicans that they blend into that community I think. But I have seen a Salvadoran restaurant in South Raleigh once.
Hispanics/Latinos of Carribean or South American origin are certainly less common. Also they're not always automatically noticed as Hispanic, like the poster above who said they're Cuban but mistaken for Italian. Some friends of mine have some Brazilian neighbors and thought they were of Meditteranean origin of some type at first.

The Carribean Latinos seem to blend enough that everyone thinks they're "someone else." My wife has been flagged as Indian, Middle Eastern and several others. Oh well... I think she's hot either way
