Do you think they will ever put a mall or Target up this way? Just moving here I do miss those things. Also the movies. Things are far and you would think the towns would benefit if they had these things. Jobs etc. I heard the old Grand Union in Matamors was going to be a the movies but I haven't seen any movement.

That area has grown over the years, so I don't think it would be a bad idea for those things. I don't know of anything tho. Maybe you could contact the city or county to see if there are any plans. Alot of times, they list upcoming expansions on their website.

There is a Dunkin Donuts I believe in Westfall and in Milford now. The one in Milford is hard for parking, but it is there. It is a hard area for shopping. Many drive to Middletown where places like Sam's Club is located and the malls. Many also opt to drive to Dickson City, but both require driving distance.

There has been a sign up across from the Wallenpaupack high school for about a year that a DD was coming soon.

Would be surprised to finally see it.

Yes, there is a DD near Lowes in Westfall, it is in the right side entrance and in Milford, directly across the street from Chant Realtors.

I don't think that what the world needs is more big box stores. The appeal of this area is supposed to be the old fashioned charm of a thriving downtown with locally owned businesses. How about supporting some of them? If you think there is a need for something not provided by them, maybe the chamber of commerce can be of assistance? Heck, post it on this board and maybe some enterprising person can jump in and fill the niche. Or just go into a related store and ask if they can get the thing in for you. Luhrs has a variety of goods and is usually very happy to help with special requests. Do we really want to live in a world where everyone has to work at Wal Mart because everyone shops at Wal Mart and everything else had to close down?
