@ steelcity he works right off of 81.. Im not sure how great the area is, is it urban? Are there young and up and coming neighborhoods? Or simple mellow older neighborhoods? Im really confused on where we should move to, but have to make a decision soon because of how quickly we have to move.. I really want the best for my girls

I have family in West Pittston and two homes were untouched by flood waters while another had water up to the ceiling of the first floor. While the renovations continue of the commercial buildings, some of the homeowners who were inundated are hoping for a buy-out.

While the area had substantial flooding in some sections, others got by unscathed. It would be a simple matter to find out where the flooding ended when looking for a place to live.

In the meantime, it could be quite expensive to live in west Pittston in terms of increased real estate taxes if those looking for a buy-out are successful. Once that becomes a reality, the structures would be condemned, razed and the land reverted to green space, never to be a viable taxable property again.

As far as schools, the Wyoming Area district seems to be in flux just now, with several proposals on the table for a change in the elementary school structure.

Scribe a circle on the map around Pittston and you'll find plenty of municipalities from which to choose that were not flooded in September. I would strongly recommend renting while you investigate all the options. Good luck.
