Hey, Franco! I can't rep you again with real points.

So here's a 'you go Franco' for ya!

To me, curse words only demean the person speaking them. A less than appropriate means of defusing, but it does feel good sometimes. Intellect disappears, and emotion takes over.

Cursing is using words that hurt another person. Base words for a race or culture that has nothing to do with the individual person being addressed.

Pretty sure I wouldn't want to put up with the neighbor cursing loud enough to be heard outside. That said she was in her own home after all. But then again play your music to loud and the police can nail you with a citation.
On a seperate issue walk through a mall today. Can you avoid the teenagers who swear like a sailor? I was a sailor so I know. Its annoying when you have your kids with you. Foul language it seems is much more acceptable today than even 10 years ago.
My grandfathers wisdom comes to mind.
"Its a small man that needs to use foul language to get his point accross"
I never heard my grandfather utter a swear word. Not even once.

I agree with the two above posts. Sure, I have cursed at times, typically when angry, frustrated....or being childish, but by and large it's gone too far. Kind of emphasizes the ongoing dumbing down of us culturally in a direction opposite striving for quality, self improvement and intelligent exercise including conversation/language.

I feel bad for the woman in the sense that she's probably stressed, maybe often drunk and out of control, yet it is hard to accept that behavior inside one's own house is subject to penalty, much like the new push in NYC to outlaw smoking in apartments within many buildings.

That said, it is also important for all of us as people among people to go out of their way to not offend our neighbors with excessive nuisance noises, otherwise preventable...or at least to apologize after the fact & try better next time. We've gotten to be a very noisy nation from weed wackers to loud 'muzak' at the gas station & everywhere, to cinema sized woofers in the trunks of your neighbors kid's car....cellphone abuses (ugh)......

I wouldn't mind a lot of scaling back both in the number/type of nuisance noises as well as the volume....

Are noise pollution measures gaining any traction...at least enough to snap people out of bad habits by getting their attention......?

Huh? whadid'yasay?

I just remembered the following from grammar school......

'Good', 'Better', 'Best'
Never Let Them Rest
'til your 'Good' is "Better'
and your 'Better', 'Best' !!
