My kids had mixed results on the road test. My youngest took it a few times before he passed. He still doesn't like to drive and is the same age as your granddaughter theatergypsy. The things that tripped one of my kids up were doing complete stops at stop signs, and stopping at that white line at lights, oh and knowing how to do a three point turn.

My husband just got his motorcycle license just a few years ago. He had been just getting a permit every year, but I guess the state figured out that many people were doing that and stopped allowing it. Anyway, he took a m/c driving class and if you do that they waive the test. Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program

He passed it on the first try! Although he had been riding road bikes and then moped/scooters on the road for several years, so he is used to being the "small" vehicle on the road and has a good head about traffic from that.

Amongst the teens who hang out with my son, the parallel parking and complete stops in the proper positioning seem to be making them fail.

Also, it is rumored that the Snydersville Center has more difficult/picky examiners than the Easton Center.
