Yes, but it only mentions two heroes - it should really talk about four heroes. Yes, Bernie Kozen and Mark Kresh definitely saved lives. Without their quick thinking the death toll would have been considerably higher. However; zoning officer David Fleetwood shoved a woman to safety and paid with his life. Definitely that should earn him the title of hero! I would also like to see David LaBar recognized. He was the next door neighbor that was told to grab his gun and go stop Newell. Then he rendered CPR in an attempt to save one of the victims. He could have stayed in the safety of his house or he could have been shot by Newell as he responded to the scene - but he still went and tried to assist.

I just wish that we would remember the dead and our heroes and forget the name of the perpetrator. Too often we remember the evil and forget the good.

Father of Pa. shooting suspect: Son gave warnings | PoconoRecord.com

Quote:

Newell had lost his property last month in a court fight
with the township over longstanding complaints that he lived in a storage shed,
built an illegal culvert and used a bucket outside as a toilet.

"Normally, he wouldn't harm anybody. But they just drove
him nuts. They took the only thing he had in his life away from him," his father
said.

IOW, this shooting was a giant ****-fit of a tantrum because a 50-some year old man can't follow the rules everyone else in his township does.

Unbelievable.

That was also the about the time that he bought his property in question. The property with the stipulation that it was wet land and no building permits could be issued. Then we have the township that issues a building permit for a 'storage shed' and was not aware that the property had wet land restrictions! I still want to know where Mr. Newell actually lived? His father stated that the Township was going to take everything from his son. But; how could he live on a property that he could not live on legally? Where was Rockne living that he had internet access - there was no electricity, water or sewage to his property. Just a lot of unanswered questions.
