Thanks

It all depends on what you are doing for a living and who you are working for. Some employers do credit checks, some check MY SPACE, some do criminal background checks and FBI clearances.

Many hiring officers at big firms are required to check myspace now. I think it makes sense; that's where you can catch a glimpse of what someone really cares about, what kind of company they keep, etc.

I'd advise everyone to use extreme discretion about what they post on social networking sites such as MySpace or Facebook, as many employers are now cross-referencing these as well in an attempt to catch prospective employees in a lie. For example, during an interview a candidate might say they don't drink, but if the employer sees this person holding and/or chugging a bottle of beer in their Internet social profiles, it obviously points to this person as being dishonest. If I had learned that a job candidate had lied to me during an interview, I would not hesitate to pass them over, regardless of their credentials. If someone would be willing to deceive their employer right from the beginning, what makes one think that this won't be habitual?

I keep my profiles "clean" as a result. I myself am vehemently opposed to "vices" such as smoking, drinking, etc. for the negative ramifications they can have upon society at-large, but I did become very intoxicated last night just to "see what it was like" (in a controlled environment may I add). I didn't like it one bit---I was a happy, pleasant drunk, but I was also one that wouldn't shut up and annoyed a lot of people! LOL! Cameras were taking photos left and right, and if I'm "tagged" in one of these, I'm going to "untag" myself and ask the owner of the photo if they can either take it down or photo-shop it to remove my face, as this one night wasn't indicative of my character at-large.

On a side note, is it normal to not have a headache but rather a toothache?

I don't know about background checks. But, its maddening to me, we have
to take a drug test to GET a job but, SOME of our citizens do not have to
take a drug test to get a monthly check. Whats up with that ???
