Don't ask me why I felt the need to post that. I just had a cataract removed today and I feel like dog meat. The procedure itself was fine but the constant drops is a bit of overkill.

For now, I'm going to sleep so I can skip the next five or six hours. sleep well everyone.

Peaceful Valley Furniture also has a store in Bird in Hand.

Sorry your having a hard time with your cataract removal! Ever since I got that old fish hook caught in my eye the doctor thought I would need one of the operations. Fortunately I have not. There would be a good chance I would loose sight in the eye if they did have to do the operation. The hook damaged the substructure of the eye and I cannot have just a simple removal and replacement.

How is your sight since the operation? I know the drops are a pain; I went through that with the hook; but they worked for me. Rest when you can; sleep helps heal the most.

Peace Valley was really a neat place...and still is, just that I'm not there any longer....lol

I'm really hoping to be able to drive back up there before leaving PA next year....would like to see it one last time, however, I left over 20 years ago, and the changes up there, might overwhelm me.

One of my girlfriends lives in Honeybrook, it's a lovely little town, bout 15 minutes from Shady...so we meet at her place, and drive over to Shady Maple. Love taking a cooler along and going to the market, for meat, and such.

I'm sorry your not feeling up to par...they say after that surgery, it's really awesome to be able to see again.

I remember times where the kids did better than their parents at catching the prized golden trout that our State would stock. Kids would try anything where us 'pros' would stick with our tried and proven baits. The little town is also close to Carlisle for shopping or medical services.

Carlisle has changed since I worked out of it. When I was there most of the trucking was located in Middlesex on the northeastern side of the town. Now, looking at Google Earth, it looks like a lot of new trucking has moved into the eastern/southeastern side of the town. But that trucking would not go through the center of town. Carlisle had an active retirement community as well as a hospital and Dickenson College. It also had the Military War College. I miss some of the food that I would find in Carlisle.

There are many nice small cities in that whole area. It might be worth vacationing in the area and checking it out. In general I felt that these communities were well maintained and that the residents cared about their communities.

Thank you ,that's kind of the impression I got also.

I love PA for a lot of reasons, the seasonal changes, how close you are to NYC, DE, NJ, OH, VA, etc..., there are so so many Wonderful, sights to see, just in PA....Northern PA is beautiful as well as Western PA...if you like the country and vast state forests....camping was always a love...we used to go up near the Grande Canyon PA and Down the shore. There are so many waterways, near and far if you love fishing as I do...
and then there is always the antique stores, far and wide. Philly is a great place to visit, with many sight seeing opportunities, as well as music, plays, etc...There are many historical tours in Philly, one of my favorites was the Eastern State Prison, where Al Capone once lived....lol
https://www.easternstate.org/
It's a must see, as well as Potter County, Coudersport, Potato City, Erie PA, the Great Lakes area, Lake Ontario, Pittsburg, and not far is Falling Waters, which is a fantastic tour.
https://www.fallingwater.org/

Gettsburg, where you could spend a few days, Harrisburg, where they hold the State Farm Show...

There is just so very much to do, and places to go, plus the weather here in PA is not nearly as dangerous as some other areas, when you consider fewer hurricane hits, and other catastrophic weather disasters...here your pretty safe. Your close to the shore, and to the Outer Banks, if you love the Ocean and Ocean fishing....then you also have the Delaware River, etc.

They have developed the Water Front in Philly into a beautiful tourist attraction....used to love to take the R5 train there, and spend the day, tons to do. Market Street East...is fun to walk around....

PA is a pretty diverse state....so....Hope I've been some help.

Lancaster in PA is a beautiful drive, OMGosh I could go on and on...there is just so much to do.

Used to enjoy driving into NYC, and spending the day or a weekend, seeing the wonderful shows.

Loved to drive to Cape May and take the Cape May Ferry over to Rohobeth Beach which is like walking back in the 60's.

There are many wonderful times to be had in the Poconos...

The list just goes on and on....
Thankyou so very much....

also another nice area, if you like being away from it all it Tunkhanock area, or Northern PA, beautiful...

Looks like Christmas Village getting ready to put on the show real soon.
Hope to check out more of PA then while enjoying some of the Koziar family festivities.
