Just wondering what folks in the area would think of a dedicated, off-road vehicle facility?

As someone who is tiring of dodging them on the roadways in the Greater Pittston area, I'd welcome it with open arms. Perhaps they'd FINALLY take a hint and drive them where they BELONGED!

There was Traxx at Jack Frost & Big Boulder that had I think 3 or 4 motocross tracks. I'm not sure if its there anymore. Paragon off-road park is closed and that was in Hazelton. I though that there was talk about one at Snow Mtn.?

Maybe they could build an "ATV park to nowhere" so they never return?

I personally think that ATV parks are great ideas...I live about 30 min West of State College and we just opened a 6000 acre ATV park Called "Rock Run"...ever since it opened its been nothing but a blessing for keeping ATVs off the roads and brining people into the area...i believe this ATV park is really putting my area on the map!!...Check out the website....Rock Run Recreation Area, The Premier ATV Recreation Park East of the Mississippi

id love it, as long as its not in my back yard. they wanted to make one in our development where tanglwood ski resort was. our community shot it down. the thought of all that noise right in the center of our homes was scarey. but somewhere else id love it.

There are plenty of places to ride. More often than not, when i travel back to PA my 10-12 times a year, i bring my ATVs. the area has the west adn east mountains of Wyoming Valley that have endless trails and awesome scenic views you normally would not see unless you were a fit, avid hiker.

The problem with parks (which is waht i am limited to in No VA) is they are always too small. you can cover alot of ground and it takes alot of land to make it fun. That is if trail riding is what your after. Track riding is something different.

There was talk about building an atv park on the old abandoned mine lands up in Ashley behind the Huber Breaker a few years ago. I don't know what ever became of that proposal I think it would be a good idea.

there is actually a plan going forward for 1,400 acres directly behind North American Warhorse. an application will be submitted to the State for approval of a plan to develop this facility. will eventually need public input for this project.
