And with the feds sniffing around the area, I would bet a lot of these projects are being put on the back burner.

I know that the original owners, the Wolfingtons recieved a Grow Greener Grant for about $6.5 mil from Rendel after they contributed about $40,000 to Rendel for Governor. I think Doherty recieved $1 mil from the same grant after he contributed $10,000 to Rendel for gov.

I have the campaign reports and even spoke about that at council a few years back. I would have contributed $10k to receive $1mil in return if I had known at the time.

They actually have a growing following on Facebook, and people ARE inquiring. Contrary to popular belief those in my generation largely think our preceding generation was largely ill-advised to build such hideous suburbs as South Abington Township and feel like cities like Scranton need reinvestment.

I will pull all my files on the Connell building later tonight and find the pages and then I will direct you to the websites via links. My files are noted and I will not scan them.

What I will tell you now is that starting on....

7/1/06
Alexander E. Wolfington
CEO Wolfington Companies contributed $35,000 to Rendell for governor

7/20/06
John A. Wolfington
Principal/executive Wolfington Companies contributed $10,000 to Rendell for gov

7/27/06
John A. Wolfington
contributed another $5,000 to Rendell for gov

Then on ...
7/21/06
Doherty for mayor '06
contributed $10,000 to Rendell for gov.

On 7/27/06 the Wolfingtons recieved a $5mil check from the gov for the project.

These are my quick refernce notes from my ledger for files and projects. You can check the dates, names and campaign reports for yourself.

I will give you this....

I don't believe that for one second. If anyone from your generation thought that Scranton needed reinvestment they would have stayed. Your the minority.

You think Rendell is returning favors for a 5, 10 and even a 30k donation? That is chump change. Maybe Rendell is giving Scranton money for development because that is what Mayor's do.
